Lighthouse school Dance CCA team comprises of students who are vibrant, active and ever willing to learn and explore new dance genres. The students learn various dance forms throughout the year in preparation for the many different events and celebrations in the school. Guided by the quote by Agnes De Mille, the Dance CCA aspires to groom students to be more confident to explore, express and be creative in the area of performing arts “to be out of” oneself. Students are exposed to genres such as Modern Dance, Ethnic Dance and also free explorative movements which encourages them to choreograph and improvise.

The Dance CCA in Lighthouse school continues to encourage students to come out of their comfort zone, explore the possibilities of movements and techniques as well as groom them to be more self-disciplined. In addition, dance also helps students improve on their strength and psychomotor skills, ensuring that the students are regularly working on their fitness, and practicing dance in a safe environment where they are guided on the safe practices of dance and the importance of stretches and body conditioning.

The Dance CCA Team also livens up the atmosphere during many school events such as Chinese New Year Celebration, Racial Harmony Day, Teacher’s Day, Hari Raya Celebration, Deepavali Celebration and Prize Giving Day. In Lighthouse school, we provide many opportunities for our young dancers to showcase their passion and talents. We aspire to provide more exposure for our students to perform in other dance events and competitions outside of the school premises in the near future through collaborations.
